Dibyajyoti finished his Bachelor's in Science (Chemistry Hons.) from Dept. of Chemistry, Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan, West Bengal in 2009. Then he joined JNCASR, Bangalore as an Integrated Ph.D. student in the Chemistry and Physics of Materials Unit. He completed his Master's in Science degree in 2012 and joined the Theoretical Sciences Unit of the same institute to undertake his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Swapan K Pati. He completed his Ph.D. in 2016 and moved to the Dept. of Physics and Chemistry, University of Bath, UK as a post-doctoral research associate for 2 years. He worked with Prof. Saiful Islam and Prof. Alison Walker there. Following that, from November 2018 to July 2021, Dibyajyoti was a research associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA. His mentors were Dr. Sergei Tretiak and Dr. Amanda Neukirch. He joined the IIT Delhi as an assistant professor in July 2021. Outside of research, Dibyajyoti enjoys hiking, playing football, and traveling.
