Research Interests

We are fascinated to develop new reactions for editing organic molecules. Therefore we are interested to functionalize the relatively inert bonds in a molecule. This encompasses the discovery of new concepts in catalysis so that we can reduce the environmental impact of chemical transformation. Indeed, the development of such catalytic methods for the activation of inert bonds in an organic molecule would be highly desirable to synthesize smart molecules. We are also fascinated to study the reaction mechanism as a strategy for (re)designing the catalyst, controlling reaction selectivity and increasing efficiency of the catalytic process.
